Day 1

So starting today I'm going to start writing everyday. *fingers crossed* I have finished my half marathon, I did it in 04:04:26. I will take it for being my first half. Now that the weather is getting colder, I'm feeling less motivated to get out and walk. Which isn't fair to myself or to Theo and Aubrey. Plus now that the hours are getting longer at work, I just want to come home and relax. It's going to be hard to get out this weekend. Just on Saturday, maybe Theodore and I can take a walk around the land.

13.1 training

So the plan to get ready for a half in a month...walk everyday with one long walk a week. Starting yesterday I did my long run of 6.5 miles. I did it in 2 hours (with hills) which means if I can keep the pace I should be able to finish in 4 hours. My short walk today was walking around at a zoo and a trail at a state park. Tomorrow and the rest of the week aside from probably Weds. will be short walks hopefully around 3 to 4 miles. Hoping to do 8 miles if not more this weekend.

So I haven't learned much more about my IR4 buddy. But I love seeing her pictures and her interaction with her sisters.

Ann Arbor Marathon 5k

Back at the end of March I went to MI to visit my sister and do the 5k of the Ann Arbor Marathon while my sister, mom and sister-in-law did the half. This was my sister's first half and I am so proud of her. Here is the highlights.

I'm half crazy...

So I might be half crazy or completely crazy. But I figure if my sister (mother of 3 under 6 years of age), my sister in law (mother of 2 under 7 years of age) and my mom (who's over 50) can do it than I can too (mother of a 7 month old). Yep I'm registered for my first half marathon. Doing it in honor of my buddy Aubrey and my son's first birthday. The half is the day before his first. I need to work on training while pushing a stroller which is totally different than walking/running without one. Though if I do it on the short walks and have someone watch little man for the longer ones. Plus finding the right routes. I know there's a few things that I can work on also that might help with it. First looking to God and use the walks as means to get closer to Him. Second the inspiration and motivation from my buddy Aubrey Third being a healthier me for my son and future kids. Few things that I need to do to get there: Cut back on soda (diet and regular) to completely cutting it out. Watch what I eat (I could do it while I was pregnant, I can do it again) Cross train (maybe get a bike and some kettle weights)

So my new year is started out fantastic...not. I just need to find another way to deal with the stress other than eating, but I have no one to watch my son when I want to go some where....

January's Goals/Years Goals.

So here are my goals for January: To drink more water and less soda, eat out less, walk a minimum of 6 miles a week, start counting carbs again. Goals for the full year: to register for my first half marathon (looking at September, great way to celebrate my son's 1st birthday), to walk the Appalachian Trail (2,184 miles) if not more. I can't wait to see how I do, and now we'll see who will help keep me accountable.

FUNd Run 4 Bling
