9 new runs added to the list. 3 of them are awareness walks. ACT Fast Stroke Awareness in honor of my mother-in-law, Karen, who survived her stroke and in the memory of my "adoptive" grandpa, Charles, who didn't survive his stroke. Organ Donation Awareness, because with out organ donation I wouldn't have had the honor of meeting Heather, who is an awesome lady with a great sense of humor. The last one was for the Honeybees, because without them we wouldn't have some pretty amazing things.
2 of the races were fundraisers. Walk for the Cure-We are a Scout Unit located in Mt. Washington, KY. Our Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts have taken part in the Making Strides Breast Cancer walk for the last 3 years and we would like to be able to help as much as we can. HCM Veterans Assistance-Haywood Christian Ministry is a crisis assistance ministry in Western North Carolina that helps more than 14,000 people per year. The HCM Veterans Assistance Fund helps Veterans, their families and their widows who are experiencing a family or financial crisis. 100% of the proceeds from this event will be used to help Veterans and their families.
The rest of the races are Save the Pumpkins, With God, Haunted House, and Breast Cancer Run. These 9 put me into the 5k club for registering for 12 runs in one year. Next up is the Beast mode which means I need to sign up for 50 or more so at least 38 more...It's possible!
